Janet MacDonald
Janet MacDonald is a registered physiotherapist with over 30 years experience in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. Janet is a native to PEI but started her career in Toronto after graduating from University of Toronto in 1992. She worked in private practice in Toronto and later opened her own clinic and home care business where she serviced orthopedic and neurological conditions for over 15 years. Janet sold her practice to move to the beautiful community of Sherwood Park, Alberta in 2006. In Alberta, Janet expanded her clinical skills to include acupuncture, vestibular therapy and concussion therapy.
Janet moved back to PEI in 2023 after raising her 3 sons in Alberta. She joined the Aspire team on her return to the island and continues with her special interest in acupuncture, vestibular therapy, concussion therapy and general outpatient orthopaedics.
Janet enjoys treating all aspects of orthopedic care and treats the age spectrum. She has particularly enjoyed working with infants with developmental / motor delays. Expanding into the neurological realm of physiotherapy to treat concussion patients has been a special interest as well.
Janet is happy to be back to the island and a part of the aspire team!

Bailey McAssey PT
When Bailey is not here at the clinic, she can be found spending time with her pup Lenni, playing sports or visiting new beaches. Bailey enjoys working with a wide range of clientele.
Bailey has a particular interest in elderly health promotion, breast cancer rehabilitation, and gross motor issues with school aged children.

Jayoda Tennekone
Jayoda Tennekone, born and raised in Stratford, is grateful for the opportunity to work in his home community as a Mental Health Therapist. Jayoda holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Sociology and Anthropology (UPEI), a Bachelor of Social Work (University of Manitoba), and a Master of Social Work (Wilfrid Laurier University)
Jayoda has gained extensive experience working in diverse settings as a Social Worker providing mental health therapy, facilitating evidence-based group programs, and leading community-focused mental health initiatives. His clinical trainings include; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Grief Counseling, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Suicide Prevention and Life Promotion Interventions, and Culturally Responsive Practices in Mental Health Therapy.
Jayoda has worked with clients addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, chronic pain, trauma, relationship/attachment challenges and more. He incorporates evidence-based modalities into his practice, tailoring interventions to meet client’s unique needs.
In addition to his professional work, Jayoda enjoys spending time with family and exploring the world through travel. Jayoda holds a lifelong passion for martial arts, he currently teaches and trains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Jayoda enjoys sharing his knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu with adolescents and adults, helping to build confidence, discipline, and a sense of community.

Matt Wright
Matt Wright, Resident Physiotherapist is from Saint John, New Brunswick and he has earned a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2024 and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick in 2022. He discovered his interest for Physiotherapy by attending Physiotherapy for his own rehab needs as an athlete growing up and playing competitive sports. Matt treats a wide variety of orthopedic injuries, and also has a special interest in treating athletes.
His approach to Physiotherapy treatment includes techniques such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, taping, injury education, and pain management. Outside of the clinic, Matt enjoys weightlifting, as well as playing and watching sports. His favourite part of his job is getting to interact with the amazing staff and clients here at aspire physio and wellness.
